Ten highly committed students from Bavarian International School (BIS) are organising a Model United Nations conference (BISMUN) at the Haimhausen Campus.
Nearly 100 delegates will take part in BISMUN from 24 to 26 October 2025, including representatives from the European School Munich, Phorms Frankfurt and, of course, BIS.
The students have chosen UN Sustainable Development Goal 16, "Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions," as the thematic focus.
Keynote speakers at the three-day conference will include Alexandre Aaron Vulic, Consul General of France to Munich, James O'Shea, Consul General of Ireland to Munich, and Nicolette Helling Kalbfell, Global Head of Internal Communications at Sandoz.
Following the success of the first BISMUN conference in February, the upcoming conference is also being entirely organised by the students themselves. This student-led initiative builds on the foundation laid in early 2024 under the supervision of Diego Jaque, former Business and Economics IB teacher at BIS, with many students and now alumni contributing to its creation.
A Model United Nations (MUN) conference is a simulation where students role-play as delegates from different countries to discuss and debate global issues, following the procedures of the real United Nations.
This year's BISMUN team includes Alina H. (Secretary General), Annalena F. (Conference Organiser), Jules L. (Conference Organiser), Aarav D. (Deputy Conference Organiser), Marie Carmen G. (Head of Communications), Francesco M. (Head of Finance), Stella G. (Head of Hospitality), Tina K. (Head of Press), Nina O. (Deputy Head of Press) and Felix D. (Head of Ad-Staff), supported by BIS teacher Amelia Green (MUN Director).
