Giulia Pomponi (Grade 11) had the special opportunity to work for FC Bayern as a Marketing and Advertising Intern in the Product Development team this past summer - she recounts her experience below.

“I’ve had the opportunity and honor to work as an intern for FC Bayern for a month over the summer. More specifically, I worked in the marketing department in the product development team. [This meant] my team and I were at the very beginning of the product pipeline: we introduced and discussed new ideas, created design briefs, mockups, and [spoke about] products that were in the manufacturing stage.”

“Every single member of the team had a critical role and worked really hard to make sure the process from concept to release was as smooth as possible. My job was to research potential products that FC Bayern does not yet offer. I did this by looking at the websites of other sports teams, as well as researching through sports forums what fans would want to see in the next releases.”

I really enjoyed the environment and meeting new people - regardless of their position - they all treated me as an equal and were more than happy to help me learn how things work. The food they served in the cafeteria was probably one of my favorite parts, it was so good, I looked forward to eating there every day. The whole team often had meetings where we spoke with our team leader, who also treated all of us more like a friend, to discuss our progress and future tasks.”

“It was a lot of fun to see the different aspects of product development. I really enjoyed the day where I worked at FC Bayern World for a day and learned how to help customers. I even got my own customized jersey as a gift on my last day from my teammates.”

“One of the best parts about working for FC Bayern was how comfortable I felt, which is the most important thing for me. There were also many other interns there, and although they were already about to graduate university, we had lots of things in common that we could talk about, for example our studies and what goals we have for the future.”
